Operating Modes
Rover Mode
Receives RTK corrections from a base station or NTRIP service to compute centimeter-accurate position. Default operating mode for most applications.
Base Station Mode
Survey-In mode automatically determines precise position. Then generates RTCM 3.x correction data for rover receivers. Perfect for setting up your own base station.
Moving Base Mode

Important Information
RTK Corrections Required for Centimeter Accuracy
Without RTK corrections, accuracy is approximately 1.5-2.5 meters (standard GNSS). To achieve centimeter-level accuracy, you need one of the following:
- Your Own Base Station - Second ZED-F9P module as base
- NTRIP Service - Network RTK via internet
- PointPerfect - u-blox satellite correction service (subscription)
Multi-Band Antenna Required
This module requires an external GNSS antenna (not included). For full RTK performance, use a multi-band L1/L2 antenna. Single-band L1 antennas will work but with reduced RTK accuracy and longer convergence time.
Clear Sky View Required
GNSS requires direct line-of-sight to satellites. This module will not work indoors or in areas with heavy obstruction (dense tree cover, urban canyons, etc.). For best performance, mount antenna with unobstructed 360-degree sky view.
How RTK Works
Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) positioning uses correction data from a reference station with known coordinates. The rover (this module) compares its satellite observations with those from the base station to compute a highly accurate relative position.
